Maaf Kalau Gambar Memualkan, Tapi Inilah Akibat Saya Terima Kerana Tabiat Suka Korek Telinga Guna ''Cotton Bud''

SEJAK kecil lagi kita telah didedahkan dengan kaedah mencuci telinga yang telah diamalkan secara turun-temurun oleh mereka yang lebih berusia daripada kita.

Baik dengan menggunakan putik kapas oleh mereka yang dikatakan tergolong dalam kategori moden, mahupun penggunaan benda-benda tajam atau secara spesifiknya pin rambut oleh mereka yang agak tradisional.

Kedua-duanya digunakan oleh mereka yang mempunyai niat dan tujuan mencuci telinga yang kononnya kotor dan tersumbat dengan tahi telinga.

Admin pernah terbaca tulisan Prof Madya Dr Irfan Mohamad, dari Jabatan Otorinolaringologi, Pusat Pengajian Sains Perubatan, USM tentang perkara ini.

Menurut beliau penggunaan putik kapas sebenarnya bukan sahaja tidak mampu membersihkan telinga, bahkan ia boleh menyebabkan masalah gangguan pendengaran.

Saluran telinga manusia mempunyai bahagian yang dilapisi kulit yang menghasilkan lilin telinga (ear wax) di mana telinga mempunyai struktur menyerupai rerambut halus di bahagian menghala ke luar, dan bahagian tanpa rerambut yang letaknya lebih ke dalam yang hampir dengan gegendang telinga.

Kerana tindakan sering memasukkan putik kapas, ia sekali gus mengganggu proses pencucian lilin telinga ini yang sepatutnya berlaku tanpa diganggu kerana rerambut halus yang terdapat dalam saluran telinga sebenarnya telah diprogramkan untuk menyapu keluar lilin telinga ini.

Tahukah anda bahawa mengorek telinga sebenarnya bahaya, dikongsikan oleh Puan Farihah Zulkifle, beliau yang mempunyai tabiat suka mengorek telinga menggunakan ''cutton bud'' telah mengalami sakit telinga hampir 4 minggu, beliau telah merujuk kepada pakar telinga, apabila rawatan dilakukan, ternyata kesan mengorek telinganya itu memberi kesan yang sungguh besar.

Dipendekkan cerita, selepas hampir 4 minggu sakit telinga, ulang alik ke klinik biasa, dan setiap minggu on antibiotik baru tapi keadaan masih sama, akhirnya saya decide untuk refer pakar ENT di Klang.

Masa perjumpaan tu, doktor tu takda tanya banyak. Dia tanya kenapa je. Saya cite bla bla bla dia dengar pastu terus suruh baring. Takda cakap apa2. Takda warning apa-apa. Bermulalah azab saya.

Dia cuci yang kiri dulu. Masa tu dah menggelupur dah. Dia sedut, sembur ubat. Rasa ngilu semua ada. Tapi masih boleh tahan lagi. Sekejap je. Tak sampai 3 minit pun.

Kemudian telinga kanan pula. Saya sempat bertanya. "Tengah sakit ni, macam mana ni doktor?". 

Doktor tu hanya cakap "relax". Dia masukkan apa taktau la tapi telinga rasa terbuka dan perit. Pastu bunyi macam drill, masa ni bukan sakit sebab dia sedut & sembur sahaja tapi sakit sebab bunyi yang terlalu bising dan dekat dengan gegendang kita. 10 minit Non stop!.

Masa tu dah gugur air mata pahlawan ni. Ada one part tiba2 senyap ingatkan dah habis. Rupanya dia masuk lagi dalam kemudian mencari2 & tarik sesuatu (lihat gambar). Masa ni sakit dia tak tahu nak cakap macam mana. Macam gegendang kita ni orang hentak, picit kemudian baling.

Sempat juga saya berfikir dalam hati. Adakah nyawa aku sampai sini saja?? Teringat pula azab2 kubur. Dosa pahala. Tak pergi haji lagi oi. Sempat juga fikir siapa nak tolong laki aku jual Kurus Konjac? No acc aku pun dia tak tahu. Dan tengah sakit-sakit tu ada terlintas juga, dia ni doktor betul ke eh. Main tonyoh je telinga aku. Dan siap plan nak saman kalau tetibe jadi pekak ke..sorry Doc!.

Lebih kurang 10 minit yang azab akhirnya selesai lah rawatan untuk telinga kanan. Masa habis tu, sakit tidak tamat di situ. Sakit berlarutan hingga ke tekak dan hampir tak boleh nak buka mulut. Hanya mampu menangis saja. Balik rumah , makan pain killer kemudian tidur.

Ok lah ini hasil diagnosis kes saya.

- Telinga saya kedua-duanya luka disebabkan setiap hari gunakan cotton bud. Saya memang tak boleh tinggal. Jadi ketagih sebab telinga sensitif bila basah. Jadi dalam sehari hampir 6-8 batang cotton bud saya guna utk telinga. Bukan itu sahaja, bila telinga gatal saya sewenang2nya masukkan jari untuk hilangkan rasa gatal.

- Baru tahu rupanya gegendang saya berlubang since baby lagi dan bila ada lubang ni lagi cepatlah kuman merebak jika telinga tak dijaga dengan betul lagi2 jika terkena air. Dan doktor advice untuk proceed operation tutup lubang selepas antibiotik habis. Kalau tak benda ni akan jadi lagi.

Nasihat dari Doc yang rawat saya;

- STOP guna cotton bud! Cotton bud akan menyebabkan tahi telinga makin ke dalam dan akan mencederakan gegendang telinga. Jika nak bersihkan telinga ada cecair nya tersendiri, guna cotton ball dan cuci di bahagian luar sahaja atau senang cerita pergi cuci sahaja dengan mereka. Dan actually tahi telinga kita tu bagus sebagai perlindungan, pelembap dan penghalang binatang masuk.

- jangan suka-suka guna jari masuk dalam telinga. Kita tak tahu kuman apa yang jari kita bawa.

- bila sakit telinga terus ke pakar ENT dan bukan ke klinik biasa.

- jangan bertangguh!

* Yangsaya tahu ketagihan korek telinga ni susah nak tinggal tapi percaya lah bila dah rasa macam mana sakitnya masa rawatan, u all akan sanggup tinggalkan habit tu. Buktinya? Dah 3 hari saya tidak korek telinga, saya masih OK. Kalau telinga gatal, saya buat2 fikir benda lain. 😌

* Yang tanya pasal kos, total dalam RM 380. Nak pergi hospital kerajaan boleh tapi bila dah sakit kau tak sanggup tunggu dah.
